高松宮殿下も時を過ごした、2022年に改装された特別室22号室では、三木屋を育んだ地の風土を感じながら新里明士が新作を展示する。かつて芸術家たちが惚れ込んで通い続け、新たな芸術の源を生み出したことが現在の歴史と財産になっている城崎温泉の文化を、現代に甦らせようとする試みである。

Kinosaki Onsen, specifically Room 22, holds a rich history of welcoming Prince Takamatsu. Renovated in 2022, Akio Niisato will exhibit new works created with an eye toward the onsen’s character and culture. This is an attempt to re-create the tradition of Kinosaki Onsen a place where artists once fell in love with the area, creating a new source of art.
