Spring Taiza Special Tour

In conjunction with the spring exhibition, we will offer a special one-day tour of Taiza by bus with staff commentary from Kyoto Station.

Tango has been at the forefront of Japanese culture since ancient times due to its dynamic cultural exchange with Asia via the Sea of Japan. Tango is a UNESCO Geopark area where visitors can experience the beauty and spirit of Japan through its scenic landscapes, abundant food, ancient burial mounds and shrines, townscape of burnt cedar homes connected to the fishing industry, and the largest silk-weaving area in Japan. We will take you on a one-of-a-kind journey to see site-specific artworks inspired by these beautiful cultures, encounter beautiful landscapes, and rediscover the richness of the Japanese climate and local culture.

We recommend an overnight stay at KISSUIEN before continuing your trip to Kyotango the next day, or take the train directly from Mineyama to Amanohashidate, Ine-no-Funaya, or Kinosaki Onsen.
